Ditto. I think Mcain did have some good qualities- (think as a former war prisoner he'd have got rid of guantanemo) and anyone's preferable to Bush but appointing Palin s VP (as they say a heartattack away from the white house) made me question his judgment.
After I heard Palin saying she'd remove funding for fruit fly research, saying it is ridiculous (they have loads of applications to human disease) I began to worry.
There's nothing wrong with a politician not knowing about specialised subjects, it's when they feel they don't need to take advice and make the decisions anyway without looking into them properly.

I hope obama can live up to his rhetoric
(a certain guy called Tony blair generated similar optimism for a while, but in the end we got fed up with him)
It's always nice to have a nationwide party, so enjoy ourselves USA!

btw did anyone else find it funny the amount of UK people whose facebook status read "Getting out the vote for obama" yesterday

..............not to say our new president is bad but I don't like the people he associates with (course this is opinnion)........
.........1 a former member of his campaign acepted bribes (God knows how many more)...........
.........2 though not official, his wife could be deemed insane (no one in their right mind would talk the way she does in public)............
.........3 that issue with his priest being anti-america (I never found out the outcome of that but at least put ur skeletons in ur closet)..........

opne of the few things i dont like about obama is his stance on the iraq war. yes, i beilieve we never should have gone over, or kept it going, but since i have had a cousin die for that occursed cause, i believe it should at least be carried out, lest his death be in vain

..........agreed we need to honor those sacrifices and sorry for ur loss..........

I' really sorry for your loss. But would you really prefer many more people to loose their lives, their families going through what your did just so the war can be faught till the end?

thats the double edged sword right there, should more people die, just to see it out, and all their deaths not having been in vain, or should we stop having our troops die over there period, and just let it takes its course

..........if we continue it will be an inevtable win, if we withdraw then the terorist will return and the war will be on home soil, these bastards do not give up...........

...........we will be repeating north korea again, which is now posing quite a threat.............

oh well, lets not get off topic, for better or worse, obama won, and we may as well just accept it and move on

well, i must say i'm glad obama won simply because i like the guy. for someone so far from usa that seems to be enough...
as for iraq, i don't think he'll simply pull all the troops away overnight - let's face it - in current situation us army is the only factor giving any stability to iraq, and it's disappearance would cause such a mess in that poor country that we could all have another war on our hands fairly quickly. and that i think is nobody's interest, except those man bomb lunatics and their leaders...

I too have lost a cousin in the war.
And I plan on join the service in the summer after i graduate...

The problem isn't that I'm people are dieing for no cause there promoting freedom and democracy and people only see the glass 1/2 full or half empty...

there is no reason for the way that they treat our troops while there there or upon the arrival home there getting spit on and treated like dirt thats no way to treat the men and women of our country!!!!
the war is no longer about terroism its about democracy and oil... and it's not just our troops it's our economy were going broke funding this war... because of silly decisions... were trying to stop a civil war thats been going on for over 200 years... and it's pointless... If we leave it wont end, it will start again and all will be lost... but if we stay we go broke, we loss lives, we are frouned upon... It's a tough call... either way...

So don't be so egar to pick sides till you understand whats at stake...

There is more than one problem going on here... O"bomb"A is going to have to figure out what were going to do after the war, America ran out of $$$ and china is funding us... So American is going to be going through real rough times... Were going to have to pull TOGETHER as a country if were going to make it through these tough times...

I mean god our Own domestic car companies are going back-rupt and we gotta bail them out for over 15 billion$$$

And i know this isn't about just America all over the world countries are going down hill...

thats what happens when we build a global economy, and base it on the endless consumption of goods. it had to bust sometime, im surprised it hasnt happened sooner. i think we just need to all get rid of national debt, as i mean really, how are we ever gonna pay that back, and i'd like to see a country try and collect

I would have to say it would be a dark day when we the chinese coming across the Pacific... I think that no one is really that dumb to attack America... I mean were the most isolated nation with the strongest allies... we could just line all of california with dental floss and blind them all; the silent war... hahahahaha jk... Well you see if you make a game with too realistic senarios it becomes less fun to play... So they throw in a twist possible or not to keep everyone on there edge i bet if you go to russia you would find games reversed... umh never mind russia has struggling way to much, with there own problems...
